NanthAI Edge can save facts about you, such as your preferences, current projects and writing style, and use them in later conversations. You can see every saved fact, change or delete it, and switch memory off. Memory is part of Pro.
What does memory save?
After each AI response, Edge looks at the exchange and extracts up to 4 facts that may be worth keeping. Each fact is filed under one of 10 categories: identity, writing style, work, goals, background, relationships, preferences, tools, skills and logistics. Duplicates and weak facts are filtered out before anything is offered for saving.
Some facts are only useful for a while. Work context expires after 90 days and transient facts after 21 days. When new information contradicts an old memory, the old one is superseded by the new one. The chain is kept, so you can see what replaced what.
How are memories used in a chat?
Up to 10 memories marked Always On are included in every chat. Up to 12 more are found by semantic search, which picks the facts most relevant to the conversation you are having now. The retrieved memories are sent to the AI in three sections: Response Preferences (how you like answers formatted), User Profile (who you are) and Relevant Context (what matters right now).
Each memory has one of three retrieval modes:
- Always On: included in every chat, up to 10 memories.
- Contextual: retrieved when it is relevant. This is the default.
- Disabled: stored, but excluded from retrieval.
How do I see my memories?
Open Settings › Memory and choose View All Memories. You can switch between two views:
- List: filter by category, or search memories and tags.
- Graph: a live map of how memories reinforce, supersede and relate to one another. You can zoom, pan, focus on one neighbourhood and open any node.
For each memory, the app shows when it was saved, which conversation it came from, how often it has been used, and its confidence score.
If you use Ask First mode, new facts wait under Pending Memories. Nothing is saved until you confirm it.
How do I edit, pin or delete a memory?
Open a memory to edit any of its fields, including its text and category. To delete one, use Delete Memory. Pin a memory to give it a higher retrieval priority, so it is more likely to be used. You can also limit a memory to all personas or to specific ones, which keeps work details out of a personal persona.
To remove everything at once, use Clear All Memories. This permanently deletes all saved memories and cannot be undone.
How do I turn memory off?
Memory has several separate controls, so you can stop only the part you do not want:
- Enable Memory: the switch that turns memory off entirely.
- Saving Mode: Ask First (new facts wait for your review), Automatic (new facts are saved after each conversation), or Don't Save New (no new facts are extracted, but existing memories are still used).
- Retrieval mode on each memory: choose Disabled to exclude an individual memory from retrieval while keeping the saved record.
You can also choose which model runs the extraction step under Extraction Model.
What happens to my memory data?
Memories and their embeddings are stored while memory is enabled. They are kept until you delete them, delete your account, or your Pro access ends. The privacy policy says that if Pro access is revoked or refunded, Edge may delete memory data. NanthAI Edge does not sell personal data.
