Compatibility
Built for the current stateless standard
NanthAI Edge supports remote HTTPS servers that implement MCP 2026-07-28. That revision replaces the old initialize handshake and protocol session with self-contained HTTP requests. Older session-based endpoints and local stdio servers are not connected through this feature.
How it works
Add a compatible server
Paste its HTTPS endpoint. Edge verifies the server speaks the stateless MCP 2026-07-28 protocol before saving it.
Connect and choose what is allowed
Use supported OAuth, a bearer token, or an API key, then allow or disable each tool, prompt, and resource the server publishes.
Use it where you work
Enable the server in a chat, Persona, or Skill. Edge shows the server and item name whenever it is used.
What you can do
Remote tools
Let models call allowed server tools and see the result in the conversation trace.
Prompts and resources
Invoke prompts or attach text, structured, and binary resource content to a message.
Questions when needed
Protocol-native elicitation can pause an active request to ask for required input or approval.
Long-running Tasks
Follow durable task progress, provide requested input, or cancel work without keeping one connection open.
Flexible authentication
Connect public servers, user OAuth flows that need no NanthAI registration, bearer tokens, and restricted API-key headers.
Standing controls
Every published item starts disabled. Allow only what you want and change that choice at any time.
Perfect for
Teams connecting an internal knowledge or operations server
Developers testing a newly published stateless MCP endpoint
People who want specialised tools without waiting for a first-party integration
Personas and Skills that need a carefully limited set of external capabilities
