## What AI Skills do

NanthAI Edge includes 60+ built-in skills covering documents, analysis, product work, marketing, engineering, finance, legal workflows, connected apps, and other specialist tasks. Users can also create or duplicate a skill and edit its instructions.

Skills use progressive loading: the assistant sees lightweight catalog information, then loads full instructions and supported tool families only when the task needs them. A skill may provide instructions alone or unlock supported document, analysis, workspace, or connected-app tools.

Skills can be controlled at several layers:

- account defaults;
- Persona defaults;
- a specific chat;
- a single message.

Controls distinguish inherited, always-on, available-to-load, and blocked states.

## What focused helpers do

In eligible single-participant Pro chats, the main assistant can split independent work across up to three focused helper subagents and synthesise their results into one response. Promoted files and charts can be returned to the parent conversation.

Important limits:

- helpers require a tool-capable model;
- they are unavailable in multi-participant chats;
- delegation is a bounded single wave, not an open-ended or nested agent team;
- helper work consumes the user's model balance and may add latency;
- only promoted results become part of the parent-visible response.
